A YouTube video has been burning up the site today features some dork who claims to have proof that the White House is covering up the infamous "Mission Accomplished" banner in a video of Bush's remarks on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
He claims that a long black box (left) on the video is proof that Bush and Co. changed the video so that the banner is not visible.
However, you don't have to be Columbo to debunk this silly claim. Beside the fact that the banner was too high to have been in the shot of Bush even with the half-inch black box removed.
Check out the video of Bush meeting with the 2005 World Series Champion Anaheim Angels. Then click on the video link for the event. Notice anything? Maybe a familiar looking black box at the bottom of the video.
I guess the excuse would be that the Anaheim Angels hung a "Mission Accomplished" banner at the White House and Bush wanted to cover it up with a half-inch black box.
