Dumbass of the Week: Walter "Adolf" Petryk

In a week where John Kerry's humorless delivery of the "worst joke in history", there was another person who surpassed him in voting for this week's Dumbass of the Week.

When I was in high school, we were not allowed to wear shorts to school. You know why? Because on the one time they did allow it, someone came dressed in daisy dukes.

When I was at my first job out of college, the company tried out casual Fridays. That ended when someone wore spandex to work.

Fast forward to 2006 and the students at Leon M. Goldstein High School (named after a Jewish educator) will probably have a new set of rules when it comes to dressing up for Halloween thanks to Walter "Adolf" Petryk. You see, Walter came to a school dressed as Hitler.

He was kicked by a fellow student, taken out of class, and threatened with a 10-day suspension.

"Excuse me, fuehrer, can I talk to you for a minute? Are you out of your mind, you idiot? Consider yourself my prisoner of war."
-School Dean Paul Puglia
Young Hitler, of course, defended his costume with the First Amendment. His mother called it "a matter of artistic free expression". If you are done shaking your head, check this out. His stepfather is Jewish and supports his goose-stepping stepson.

But wait there's more.

Walter "Adolf" Petryk arrived at school yesterday (Nov. 1st) dressed as Hitler, again.

While Petryk is off defending his right to dress as Hitler, a large rally by fellow students and parents will take place on Monday to denounce his outfit.
