Barbara's Law

Megan's Law, Stephanie's Law, Jenna's Law, and Buster's Law will all need new names if a New York Democrat has her way. I guess this is what happens when politicians have too much time on their hands. Assemblywoman Barbara Clark (D-Queens) introduced a bill would end the naming of bills after victims, call it Barbara's Law.

The bill caught the wrath of Governor Pataki, who's spokesman issued this quote: "It's sad, but putting a real face and real victim behind crime legislation is about the only way to get Speaker [Sheldon] Silver and Assembly Democrats to act on anything that protects New Yorkers,"
