What Can You Buy For $1,000,000,000?

Mayor Mike Bloomberg was offered the endorsement of the SEIU Local 1199 and it's 200,000 members but turned it down. The head of the union wanted Bloomberg to add 25,000 home healthcare workers to the city's payroll at a tax-payer cost of $1,000,000,000 in return for the endorsement.

When the Republican mayor turned down the offer, the union president, Dennis Rivera knew who to call. Union-whore and Democratic candidate, Freddy Ferrer glady accepted the endorsement/blackmail of the union. Both denied there was any "specific agreement" between them and if you believe that hogwash, I have a beach-front condo for sale in Montana you might be interested in.

In other news, Ferrer blew open a 7 point lead over Bloomberg in the latest Quinnipiac University poll. Don't hold your breath, that's among registered Democrats (49-42). Among Republicans, Bloomy has a large 67 point lead over Ferrer. Overall, Bloomberg holds a 14 point lead over Freddy.

The poll also shows that 7% of the people polled would vote for Ferrer because of Al Sharpton's endorsement, 23% would vote against him because of Rev. Al.
