Italian Communist Journalist is Full of Prosciutto

Why is there a picture of Lieutenant Dan from the movie Forrest Gump, when the story is about the Italian Commie-Journalist? Because Forrest Gump was on TV last week and its a good movie. For those who have not seen Forrest Gump, Lt. Dan thought he was supposed to die in Vietnam, but Forrest Gump saved him. For a long time afterward, Lt. Dan moaned about how he was "supposed to die" and that Forrest cheated him. Now for the tie-in to Giuliana Sgrena.

Ms. Sgrena was released from insurgent terrorists only to be wounded after her car was shot at as it sped towards a military checkpoint. She now claims that American forces were intent on killing her because America does not like the idea of paying for the release of hostages. Therefore at some random checkpoint in Baghdad, a random US soldier was aiming for her and hit an intelligence officer killing him. If anyone needed someone with "intelligence" it was Ms. Sgrena.

She offered no evidence to support her claim that the attack was

She is claiming that she should have died in Iraq, not Nicola Calipari. The fact is, if the American military wanted her dead, she would have died right there in Iraq. She would not have been allowed to fly back to Italy so she can scribe her left-wing rants against our brave soldiers. If she was targeted to die by American forces....why did the same American soldiers take her to a US-run hospital to treat her injuries in the accident? I am not a doctor, but that seems like it goes against the process of killing someone.

It is sad that Nicola Calipari was killed. It is sadder that his death is being exploited by the very woman he was sent to save. In his last line of the movie Lt. Dan tells Forrest, "I never thanked you for saving my life." Nicola and the soldiers saved Sgrena's life; they all deserve thanks, not scorn and conspiracy. And that's all I have to say about that.

Update: Washington Times report that the Italians kept the CIA in the dark about the ransom release. That would put the soldiers in the dark about the presence of the commie-journalist rapidly approaching. Also, the news "blows a hole" in her conspiracy theory about being targeted by the soldiers.
